The Huoltaja Foundation promotes local social policy and strengthens its vocational competence and knowledge base.

• publishes Sosiaalitieto-magazine – the independent magazine in the field of social welfare
• other publications: Sosiaaliturvan sanasto – a glossary of social welfare, which contains terms in seven languages including Finnish and English
• organises meetings and seminars on topical issues in the field

• cooperates on a domestic and international level, especially within the European social network 

The Huoltaja Foundation highlights the importance and the relevant viewpoints of social welfare in developing society. The aim is to find out new solutions and put them into practice.
